University preparation

Pupils in the Senior School, and especially in the Sixth Form, take part in a full programme of activities to prepare them for applications to universities and for life beyond St. Paul’s. The programme includes lectures, workshops, talks by Old Pauleans and other scholars, as well as individual assessment and career guidance offered through the tried and tested Morrisby Psychometric Testing.

Pauleans leave the school prepared for the challenges of further study when the secondary stage of their education ends. Pupils have the opportunity to attend practices for the ACT and SAT examinations on Saturdays, to aid their preparation for entry into top US universities. They also have one period in their timetable dedicated to university guidance where representatives of leading British and American universities give advice on the vast array of courses available and their application procedures. Every year there are two university and professional guidance fairs where pupils can speak to directors of admissions on a personal level. All of this allows our pupils to make informed and well-suited decisions about their futures.

The learning resources centre contains a full range of University and College prospectuses, videos and other resources.  To find out more about the outcome of the preparation programme we offer, you may wish to view our most recent examination results and university destinations.
