Music plays an important role in the life of Pauleans, and we are proud of the very high quality of the music that our young pupils produce. Highly experienced professional musicians teach across all three schools in a state of the art music centre including a music recording studio, a sound-proofed rehearsal room, music composing suites and 11 fully equipped individual practice rooms.
There are two large performance spaces – the theatre (capacity 400) with a grand piano and three manual Rodgers digital organs) and the theatre foyer (capacity 90) which is frequently used for chamber concerts and rehearsals. In 2016 we became the first school in Brazil to offer the prestigious London College of Music examinations, an internationally recognised certificate well respected by universities when considering applications.
Music learning goes well beyond the classroom, and pupils enjoy participating in a wide range of choirs and ensembles for all genres and ages. In addition to their timetabled lessons, pupils (and their parents) have the opportunity to learn an instrument (all strings, voice, piano or organ) as part of our pioneering music tuition scheme or other orchestral instruments as part of our PASA (paid after school activities) scheme.
Our highly successful choral society, who prepare performances at celebratory concerts and our annual advent carol service, is also open to the wider British community – why not come and join us?
