The Senior School
A highly competitive academic environment

The Senior School at St. Pauls promotes a highly competitive academic environment with an eye towards understanding ourselves as global citizens. With a dedicated faculty of highly specialised professionals, the Senior School offers a wealth of academic and extra curricular activities. From Fencing to Film Studies, Young Enterprise to Model United Nations, students are given ample opportunity to engage their interests and passions far beyond the core curriculum of the IGCSE and IB Programmes. Small classroom numbers with state of the art interactive whiteboards stimulate the various ways of learning of the individual. Through an esteemed tutorial system and individualized pastoral care, students are encouraged to think and act autonomously but are still given the support they may need to feel secure, confident and able to fulfill their potential. Our reputation as a rigorous academic school is widely known, but we are also very keen to cultivate the creative, physical and social aspects of each and every pupil.

The Tutorial System

The tutorial system at St. Paul's is central to life in the Senior School. In the Lower Senior School there are six Tutor Groups for Form 1 pupils and twelve Tutor Groups made up of pupils from Forms 2 and 3. Tutor Groups meet at the start of each school day for fifteen minutes for Registration, and once a week for a whole period on Wednesday afternoons.

Tutors have overall responsibility for the pastoral, academic and social development of the pupils in their group. If Parents have a concern about their child's development, the Tutor should be the first port of call. It is hoped that relations between Tutors and Parents will be such that problems and concerns can be ironed out before real difficulties occur.
