Prep-Prep 2 to Lower Sixth entries (4 to 16 years old)

At St. Paul’s School in São Paulo, places that become available in Pre‑Prep 2 through Lower Sixth are reserved for international pupils, according to the admissions criteria outlined below.

Admissions criteria (PP2 to L6 entries)

For international students and repatriating families only

Admissions to Pre-Prep 2 through Lower 6th follow the tier system outlined below. Due to the school’s limited capacity to accept new students from Prep-Prep 2 to Lower 6th, places are only available for families who meet the criteria specified below:

  1. British families: One or both parents hold British nationality and has lived in the UK or abroad for 8 or more years

2.a) International families: Both parents hold nationality from a country other than Brazil and both have lived overseas for 8 or more years, and the child is a native speaker of a language other than Brazilian Portuguese

2.b) Binational families: At least one parent and the child meet the international criteria outlined in 2.a (i.e. hold nationality from a country other than Brazil, have lived overseas for 8 or more years, and the child is a native speaker of a language other than Brazilian Portuguese).

3. Brazilian families with international background: Families repatriating after spending 50% or more of the child’s life abroad

In addition to the applicant's international background, for these year groups entries, the following factors are also considered:

  • Academic ability, readiness for school, and the ability to study in English and access the curriculum meaningfully
  • Parental ability to communicate confidently in English, which is essential for supporting the child's learning.
  • Alignment with the school's community values, educational approach, and modern British social and educational attitudes.

Important note

The admissions process at St. Paul’s is strictly objective and impartial. No member of staff, the Board of Governors, or the wider school community has personal influence over admissions decisions.
To maintain fairness and transparency, letters of recommendation are not considered. Any attempt to exert personal influence on the process is strongly discouraged and will be viewed unfavourably.
