Pre-Prep 1 Admissions Criteria
Pre-Prep 1 is our main entry point. All applications are welcome and will be considered with care; however, priority is given to children who are international following the tier system below. Given the school's founding purpose, British families are prioritised.
- British families: One or both parents hold British nationality and has lived in the UK or abroad for 8 or more years
2.a) International families: Both parents hold nationality from a country other than Brazil and both have lived overseas for 8 or more years, and the child is a native speaker of a language other than Brazilian Portuguese
2.b) Binational families: At least one parent and the child meet the international criteria outlined in 2.a (i.e., hold nationality from a country other than Brazil, have lived overseas for 8 or more years, and the child is a native speaker of a language other than Brazilian Portuguese).
3. One or both parents that have British nationality and have not lived overseas for more than 8 years.
4. Brazilian families: Neither parent is international according to the criteria above
We are often oversubscribed and may not be able to offer places to all applicants. We very much welcome applications from any nationality, but when places are limited, the tier system outlined above will guide admissions decisions.
In addition to the international background, for Pre-Prep 1 entry the following factors are also considered:
-
Parental ability to communicate confidently in English, which is essential for supporting the child's learning and engaging with the school, especially in the early years.
-
Alignment with the school's community values, educational approach, and modern British social and educational attitudes.
