Partnership with parents

Parents as partners

Parents are children’s first educators and as such are key partners with the school in helping their children to reach important developmental milestones. The Pre-Prep School works closely with parents and carers  to support children’s learning both at home and in school. Parents are actively involved in school life and add to the richness of our curriculum. They support the PTA with extra-curricular events, and come in during the school day to share experiences or read stories.

Sharing learning

At St. Paul’s we work very closely with parents to support children’s learning and share successes in progress at home and at school. Parents regularly come to school for meetings with teachers. Parents can also interact with their children in the classroom via blogs and electronic learning journals. Teachers post regular updates to showcase children’s learning and parents are able to comment on these from home.

In the Pre-Prep we run a series of workshops for parents. These explain the curriculum in greater detail and offer parents ideas on how to support their child’s development at home.
